Marshawn Lynch – Is he just stubborn? Acting like a child? Or BRILLIANT?

obstinate or brilliant

Dutch, Qualk and Andrew tackle the Marshawn Lynch enigma on this Mental Toughness segment on Out of Bounds (WCCP 105.5 FM The Roar).

Andrew reveals how Marshawn Lynch is employing a brilliant critical thinking strategy, taking a past problem of shyness and difficulty communicating, even with teammates and turning it into a capital asset by:

1) Weighing the RISK/REWARD ratio – Fines are tax deductible with all checks written directly by the player to a charity directed by the NFL

2) He has a limited shelf-life as a running back

3) He needs to differentiate himself with a Unique Selling Proposition

4) The less he says, the more we want him to say and give him more attention (You can lead a horse to water but you can’t make him drink – but you can SALT his OATS to make him thirsty)

The results are impressive, his Skittles ad, playing off of his media shyness goes instantly mega-viral, increasing his value as a celebrity endorser.

With good coaching, anyone can take problems or weaknesses and make them strengths – even turning being obstinate into brilliance.
