Are You Miserable or Motivated?
“Be miserable. Or motivate yourself. Whatever has to be done, it’s always your choice.”
Wayne Dyer
Plenty of stuff in life just plain old SUCKS! I get it, we all do. I hate yard work, house work, doing the dishes, and whiny people at work. Welcome to Planet Earth. The fact of the matter is that we can either do what has to be done or cry about how unfair it is, why we shouldn’t have to deal with it, and then find everybody we can to agree with us about how it sucks….and in the end do it or suffer the consequences (like maggots in the dirty dish pile).
Man-O-Chevitz! Let’s quit being miserable about stuff and motivate ourselves to push through it, get it done, and move onto the good stuff! My boys cut the grass first thing on Friday afternoon when they came home from school. They didn’t like it, they wanted the weekend to begin, but they sucked it up, had decent attitudes for teenage boys, and got it done. By 7:00 PM Friday night their weekend finally began, and they enjoyed the rest of it with nothing hanging over their heads. They actually enjoyed X-Box, watching TV, and hanging out even more without the nagging thought of yard work to do before Sunday night.
Misery might love company but I hate misery, and if you’re miserable don’t hang around me, (I’m just saying.) If you find yourself going down the path to misery, RED FLAG IT and immediately and get off that track.
Boo Yah!!
