The ONE THING You Must Do To Make It Onto The Leader Board
If you don’t want to make it onto the Leader Board or be at the top of your organization or industry then STOP READING this right now and save yourself the 5 minutes that will rocket you upwards. If you want to invest 5 minutes in yourself, your career, and your future success, then Buckle Up!
For years, (like 25 years, actually) I knew I had what it took to be successful. I had great dreams, written goals, a vision, I worked on my self-talk, listened to all the CDs, tapes, and now MP3s, on self-help and development I could find, I read all the books, went to the seminars, training meetings, and workshops, ad nauseam, to no avail. About 2 years ago, I finally figured out the missing “secret” ingredient. I didn’t have the right mentor. The people I was following weren’t doing all that much better than I was….the blind leading the blind. I had to find somebody who was already where and who I wanted to be and then somehow become their protegee.
I had previously been following whoever was in my organization, my company, my industry. I was spinning my wheels and going nowhere. So, I would change companies. It must have been them, the opportunity, the product, the compensation plan, etc. It couldn’t be me. Right?
Well, is wasn’t me. It was who I was following. (WARNING: No one in your company is going to tell you this) You MAY have to (WILL have to) go outside of your current leadership to find the right mentor. It isn’t you, it is who you are following. You have to be extremely picky about who is going to be your mentor. If you think that you could never be like your current leadership, you are right! Go find a successful mentor that you CAN be like. Stop blindly following whoever is in your team, organization, company, or (dare I say it) your UPLINE.
If you need help in going through the process of choosing the right mentor, I will help you through it. I don’t know everything but I know the thought process and journey I took and am willing to help you with it. Why would I do that? Because I’m just so tired of watching good people struggle the way I did for all those years.
Boo Yah!!
